CNN are going to to create a Photosynth of Obama’s inauguration: 

CNN Worldwide plans to create the most unique view of the exact moment U.S. President-elect Barack Obama takes the oath of office on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at noon (ET). Using Microsoft  Photosynth technology, CNN and Microsoft Corp. will produce the first “synth” of a major historical moment.

What is really interesting about this is that they are asking anybody attending the event to take photos and email them to CNN who will create the resulting ‘user-generated’ photosynths.  This is a great idea, lots of photos from different locations/angles are just what you need for a great photosynth, so why not get lots of people to take them for you!   I am looking forward to seeing the results.
